There are a few ways to use DeepSeek models in 16x Prompt:
- (Recommended) Connect to DeepSeek API directly via First Party Integration (fastest and cheapest)
- Connect via Hyperbolic (relatively fast and cheap, but can cause quality degradation)
- Connect via Fireworks (relatively fast, but expensive)
- Connect via OpenRouter API (slower and potentially more expensive)
- Connect via DeepInfra (slower, but cheap)
- Connect via Ollama (slowest, but can be used on local machine)

DeepSeek First Party Integration (Recommended)
- Go to DeepSeek API platform
- Top up your account to be able to use the API
- Go to API Keys
- Click on "Create new API key"
- Copy the API key
- Open 16x Prompt and click on the settings icon in the top right corner
- Enter the API key into the "DeepSeek API Key" field
Once you have setup the DeepSeek API key, you can start using DeepSeek models in 16x Prompt by following these steps:
- Open 16x Prompt and click on the API model settings button in the bottom right corner
- Go to OpenAI • Anthropic • DeepSeek tab
- Select the model you want to use, for example DeepSeek-V3 (New) or DeepSeek-R1
- Click on "Close"
